Growing up and seeing the view of Lake Montauk every summer morning brought us a sense of serenity, and Lake Montauk Lavender truly reflects that quality of this lovely body of water. Once a freshwater lake, it was opened to Long Island sound in 1929 by the developer Carl Fischer in 1929.
